Happy Birthday Rose McGowan
Happy Birthday to the beautiful Rose McGowan!
The always funny and outspoken Rose McGowan,
best known for starring in a string of indie movies in the 90s,
for taking over the role of third sister witch in the TV series
Charmed, after Shannen Doherty left the show, and also
for dating and being engaged to both Marilyn Manson,
and Robert Rodriguez, who directed her along with
Quentin Tarantino in Rose's last prominent movie role
in the double feature Grindhouse: Planet Terror (Rodriguez)
& Death Proof (Tarantino) in the year 2007.
Rose's other notorious projects include:
Jawbreaker (1999), Scream (1996), Nowhere (1997),
The Black Dahlia (2006), playing Ann-Margret alongside
Jonathan Rhys Meyers in the CBS mini-series Elvis (2005),
and in the year 2008 she became guest programmer and co-host of
TCM's film-series program The Essentials.
Her breakthrough role was in controversial director
Gregg Araki's The Doom Generation (1995), as part of his so-called
"Teenage Apocalypse Trilogy."
The Doom Generation brought her a nomination for "Best Debut Performance"
at the 1996 Independent Spirit Awards (aka the indie movies version of the Oscars)
More recently Rose guest starred as a doctor in a 5 episodes arc of the final season of Nip/Tuck.
Rose McGowan was born in was born in Florence, Italy on September 5, 1973,
when her parents were part of the cultlike church Children Of God.
